Payouts
How do tournament payouts work?
Finalize → review computed payouts → mark each share paid as you pay them.
When the last weigh-in is recorded, click Finalize on the tournament page. This locks the standings and computes payouts based on:
- Place winnings (how many places are paid + how the prize money splits)
- Side pot payouts (each pot's place winnings)
- Boater / co-angler split (default 50/50; configurable per tournament)
The Payouts page shows every prize share — for example:
- Place 1: $500 to Bob Smith (boater) → $250
- Place 1: $500 to John Doe (co-angler) → $250
- Big Bass: $300 to Bob Smith → $300
Marking shares paid:
As you pay each angler, click "Mark paid" on their row. Pick how you paid them — Venmo, Zelle, cash, check, Stripe instant — and add a note if needed. Each mark-paid action writes an audit log entry with timestamp and your name.
Why this matters: the audit log is your protection if anyone disputes whether they were paid. "I paid you $250 via Venmo on April 15 at 3:42 PM" beats memory.
