How do 3D fish scans work for tournaments?

Anglers scan their fish with the iOS app; organizers approve or reject the scan as anti-cheat evidence.

The LimitLock iOS app captures 3D scans of fish using your iPhone or iPad's LiDAR. During a tournament, an angler can attach a scan to their catch as anti-cheating evidence — the organizer reviews it on the web and approves or rejects.

Angler workflow:

  1. Open the LimitLock iOS app and sign into the tournament.
  2. Tap "Scan a fish" — scan your bass from multiple angles.
  3. The app uploads the .usdz scan and a thumbnail to LimitLock servers.
  4. Status shows as "pending review" until the organizer approves.

Organizer workflow:

  1. Sign into limitlock.app.
  2. Open your tournament → menu → Scan reviews.
  3. See all submitted scans with their thumbnails and 3D-viewable USDZ files.
  4. Approve or reject each one. Rejection requires a reason that the angler sees.

Requirements: iPhone Pro / iPad Pro with LiDAR, iOS 17+. Standard iPhones can take photos but not full 3D scans.
