Getting started
Setting up your first tournament — checklist
Step-by-step from sign-up to sharing the registration link.
Before your first tournament:
- Create an account at limitlock.app — email + password, or Google sign-in. Takes 30 seconds.
- Connect Stripe (only if you're charging entry fees). Click "Connect Stripe" on the dashboard. Stripe will ask for your business info, SSN/EIN, and a bank account. Takes about 3 minutes. Required for paid tournaments — not needed for free / charity events.
- Create the tournament. Click "New tournament" on the dashboard. Fill in name, date, location, entry fee, and any side pots.
- Configure your format settings. Daily fish limit, dead-fish penalty, big-fish thresholds — defaults work for most clubs.
- Paste in your rules and waiver text (if you have them). Anglers sign off at registration.
- Save. Your registration link is on the tournament page.
On tournament day:
- Open the live leaderboard in fullscreen on a TV or laptop. Press "Enter TV mode" for the broadcast-style view.
- As boats come in, record weigh-ins from your phone, iPad, or laptop on the weigh-in page. Voice entry works if you don't want to type.
- Mark cash side-pot collections on the side-pots check-in page.
- Finalize when the last weigh-in is recorded. Locks the standings and computes payouts.
- Mark each prize as paid as you Venmo / Zelle / hand cash to winners. Audit log records who got what.
